Integrating of climate information into sectoral planning: case from Kyrgyzstan

How climate related information could be used in the planning process? Even though integrating climate forecasts and data into sectoral planning is not yet widely practiced in the countries of Central Asia, there are already first examples. Ms. Zoya Kretova, from the Agency for Hydrometeorology of the Kyrgyz Republic, tells how the Kyrgyz national hydrometeorological service builds capacity of experts in the field of climate services, what climate products are already there and how they could be improved, why tools for downscaling of global models and their interpretation are needed, how Kyrgyzhydromet develops climate change scenarios for Bishkek and other cities in the country.
